Where to Eat in Iloilo City?

We went to the City of Love and no, it is not Paris. Iloilo City is known as the City of Love, you're probably wondering why? It is because Iloilo City's geographical location is situated in the heart of the Philippines.

On our three-day vacation, we did not really go to Iloilo City's tourist destinations like the ancestral houses, churches or Garin Farm. We are pressed for time and we wanted to relax as well, so we decided to focus on a FOOD Adventure! Although I may say, our vacation fell short and was not able to visit some of the restaurants that were originally on our plan but nevertheless, we enjoyed it heartily.

Where to eat in Iloilo City?

1. Leah's Tinoum

If there's a Tinoum place near our home, I'd probably be a regular. Sadly there isn't! Just so you know, Tinoum is a chicken soup made with native chicken. It is wrapped in a banana leaf and cooked with tomato, onion, and lemongrass. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest trying Leah's Tinoum because they're the ones who pioneered making Tinoum

Location: Leah's Tinuom, Cabatuan Iloilo City, beside Cabatuan Market

2. Camina Balay Nga Bato

If you want to taste a rich and thick hot chocolate this is the place! They also serve a bowl of the hearty Molo Soup. For ₱ 200, you can tour the ancestral house, experience their hot chocolate paired with biscuits and the authentic Pancit Molo.

Location:
OsmeƱa St, Villa Arevalo District, Iloilo City, Iloilo. It is a few steps away from the church and plaza.

3. Street foods in Villa Arevalo District Plaza

From dynamites, fishballs and crispy sweet longganisa they got it! and mind you, their street foods are different from what we usually eat in Manila.

4. Breakthrough

Another restaurant around the Villa Arevalo district is Breakthrough restaurant. The restaurant serves delectable seafood. For ₱ 60.00 you can enjoy a tray of steamed oysters. Their sizzling crab meat and K.B.L. or Kadios, Baboy, Langka surely is a breakthrough!

Location: Villa Arevalo District, Iloilo City, Iloilo
For reservations, contact: (03) 337-3027

5. La Paz Market

It is amazing that during night time, a stretch of food vendors was lined up and had their tables and chairs set up on the market front. It is a mouth-watering experience and we had a difficult time choosing what to eat since there are a lot of choices to choose from and everything looks delicious!

Location: La Paz Market, 18 Huervana St, La Paz, Iloilo City, 5000 Iloilo

6. Netong's Original Special La Paz Batchoy

There is nothing more authentic than eating your La Paz Batchoy at La Paz Market, though we tried out Netong's there are other popular La Paz Batchoy places like Deco's and Ted's. The La Paz Batchoy in Netong's is sold in different sizes for as low as ₱ 90.00.

Location: La Paz Market, Iloilo City

A detailed blog post about each restaurant and the foods we have tried will be posted soon.
