Chili Oil Recipe


If you love hot and spicy food, you definitely should try to make a special blend of chili oil based on your taste preference. The recipe is so simple and the great part is, you can customize the blend of your chili oil and with numerous spices available in stores, you can experiment on what goes in your chili oil.


HOW TO MAKE CHILI OIL?
INGREDIENTS:

1 ½  Canola Oil 

Aromatics:
Star Anise, Black Peppercorn and Bay Leaves

Dried Chili Mixture:

1 cup dried chili flakes
1 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. garlic powder
¼ tsp. cinnamon
3 tbs. roasted sesame seeds

OPTIONALS:

2 tbs. sesame oil
2 tbs. fried garlic bits

PROCEDURE:
1. On a wok or sauce pan, add the canola oil and your choice of aromatics, heat the oil on medium high heat until it reaches 190C.

2. Once the aromatics are well infused and the aromatics releases fragrance, remove it from the hot oil. 

3. Pour the hot oil into the dried chili mixture and stir. Make sure that the hot oil is in the right temperature, if it's too hot, it will burn off the dried chili mixture. 


AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! Try it on noodles or dumplings, it'll taste great!
